"Hi, I would very much like to thank all the staff at Winning Appliances Crows Nest. On Easter Thursday, my husband and I woke to find that our refrigerator was no longer working. With an 18th birthday party organized for the Monday, I was feeling pretty panicked. I called a number of Electrical Appliance stores to see if I could get a fridge delivered on Thursday and the only response I got was “Sorry Ma’am, we can’t help you.” When I called Winnings at Crows Nest and told them of my predicament, the receptionists reply was “I am sure we can do something to help you.” I cannot tell you how good it was to hear those words. And not only did they help me, but I had a new fridge delivered by that afternoon. So, thank you very much, for supplying such good customer service."

The Winnings Story
Our History: A family business since 1906, we have a proud heritage and strong values centred around family. Most of all, we share the same passions as our customers: their pleasure in cooking, their eye for design and their love for the home.
1906 - Inspired by his father John, Richard William Winning establishes a business dealing with the horse and carriage trade, as well as hardware. The R.W. Winning & Co. trading name is born.
1945 - In the wake of World War II, brothers John 'Choc' and Richard 'Dick' Winning recognise the increasing demand for new products. The second generation of the Winning family business then makes the move into appliances.
1955 - With an established history as a selling agent, a business deal with manufacturer Simpson develops and the family business expands to include new premises in West Ryde and a spare parts division.
1960 - After years of supplying retailers with washing machines, John 'Choc' and Richard 'Dick' winning decide to become retailers in their own right. R.W Winning & Co. revolutionises the appliance retail industry, building cabinets and display units for the products on show.
1980 - John 'Woody' Winning along with sister Peggy, brother Bill and cousins Richard and Elizabeth become the third generation of the family to manage R.W. Winning & Co.
1986 - The family change the business’s name to Winning Appliances.
1990s - The opening of six additional showrooms in NSW strengthens the family business.
2006 - Winning Appliances enjoys its 100-year anniversary as a family-owned business. The milestone is celebrated with a gala party and the creation of a vintage style J-Van fleet.
2011 - John 'Herman' Winning Jr takes over the reins from his father as the fourth generation to lead the family business. His appointment sees Winning Appliances expand into Queensland, with two new showrooms.
2014 - Winning Appliances continues to expand, opening three showrooms in Western Australia.
2016 - The Winnings Appliances family business celebrates 110 years supporting Australian families with Winning moments in their homes.
2017 - Winning Appliances enters ACT opening a Flagship Showroom in Kingston. The QLD Flagship Showroom relocates to Brisbane's landmark Flat Iron building in Fortitude Valley.
2018 - Winning Appliances enters VIC, acquiring a showroom in Brighton. The business opens two new showrooms in WA, one in Myaree and a Commercial showroom in Osborne Park.
2019 - Winning Appliances expands it's Victorian presence by opening Flagship Showrooms in Richmond and Chadstone.
2020 - Winning Group acquires leading bathroom retailer, Rogerseller.
2021 - Winning Group expands into NZ, launching Winning Services distribution centre in Auckland.
2022 - Winning Group acquires leading furniture, lighting and textiles retailer, Spence & Lyda and launches Winnings, a new lifestyle and luxury destination for the home.
2025 - Winnings launches in NZ, opening one store in Auckland and one in Christchurch.
